first glimpses of Shanghai

Only since about 1979 has Shanghai and ultimately China begun opening its door to the rest of the world. Shanghai was once the economic financial center of China and during WWII shut their doors and business stopped. Apparently this first image is a constant sight around the city. There are almost more cranes than there are buildings. Well, not quite...but almost...

These are from my hotel room window. This isn't even downtown Shanghai. Just amazing.

I'm so glad you're enjoying! Just FYI, yeah, we Asians eat a lot of pork. So, you know, enjoy it.

I'm so glad you 'sat by my dad'. Did he also read a really thick nonfiction book and get up 8,000 times to use the bathroom? Cuz like, whoa.

Live it. Love it.
And then bring me back something authentic. And since I'm authentic, I'll know if it's not. ;)

Thanks for the shout-out to the Philippines for me!
